Hi everyone!
How is your year coming along so far? I hope well!
For me personally, this year, I discovered a fantastic body worker - Maria Foster, a licensed LMT in Colorado, who specializes in Push Muscle Therapy - she's the only body worker that has greatly reduce so much tension and spasm in my entire body. As some of you may know, I suffer from painful fibromyalgia and Hashimoto's autoimmune disease, carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) - now I've been getting amazing results from Push Therapy - I strongly recommend all ASL students, ASL interpreters, well, anyone actually, who has chronic muscular tension from daily work - to find the nearest Push Therapist go to:
http://pushtherapy.com/
As most people know I've been to nearly every therapy under the ole' sun: swedish massage, sports massage, traeger, Reiki, acupressure, homeopathy, traditional chiropractor, shiatzu, and few others that I can't remember what they're called - and none of them even compares to Push Muscle Therapy. I seem to have more stamina, and get things done! On top of getting great care with Dr Geronimo who specializes in alternative care for treating Hashimoto's thyroid disease --- my adrenal system is finally perking up. Thank you for all of you professionals who really heal patients!
Well, if any of you live or will visit in Colorado and see Maria Foster, let her know that I referred you to her. Do let me know of your results, I'm very curious to compare notes with others.
For the first month of the brand new year - I wanted to share everyone five of my goals as an ASL Master Tutor/Mentor/Evaluator:
1) Learn as many TPR (total physical response) techniques to share with my ASL students
- an ASL activity book
- more interactive board games (tell me what's your favorite?)
3) Series of ASL videos for all levels of various ASL literature --- I noticed in many catalogs that they often skip beginner's needs by skipping straight to high-intermediate level- so I'm working on filling in that missing gap
4) Video-taping several children's stories
5) Complete translating and interpreting a power-point presentation by Antionia Lindsey that covers how to parent autistic children (this project is keeping me insanely busy this winter term)
6) Finger-talking Therapy DVD - A lot of useful, helpful and effective tips with exercises
7) Memorizing and sharing all of Language Hunter's techniques for rewarding results
8) And of course, help everyone via Skype/VP with their personal goals in mastering ASL!
This year is a real test for me to see if I can become a full time ASL Master tutor and evaluator now that
I'm now on the nine months working trial with Social Security Administration. Once the nine months is over, all of my SSDI and SSI will be cut off, along with Medicare health insurance and food stamps. It's quite a scary transition for me as it's still too early for me to tell about how my health will react and how I'll keep my business stable all through out the year.
So, I ask everyone for their support in passing the word around and refer any new ASL students who needs individualized help, please send them on my way. As I work hard in healing my thyroid disease and fibromyalgia, my dream is to continue to be a lifelong successful ASL Master Mentor for many more years ahead! This is my passion and I thank everyone of you for your ongoing support, loyalty, laughter, insights, constructive feedback in this fantastic educational journey we shared - it's all been so helpful to get me to where I am today. Thank you everyone!
Happy New Year to all!
