1. Show up on time - I have a 10 minutes waiting policy - if you are late (for any reason: ill, computer problems, traffic, etc) after 10 minutes it's a NO SHOW and no refund. If after 10 minutes I am unintentionally a no-show, we'll reschedule another appointment. Email me to schedule how often you wish to meet per month. Please note I am in the EST zone (EASTERN time) - tell me times you want to meet with me in EST time frame. 2. Web-cam students - You can pick any of these web-cam options: Where.by.com, VP N-Touch (Sorenson videophone), or Zoom. For Zoom users, five minutes before we meet, email me your Zoom invitation's link. Make sure to have the best webcam device, a high speed internet 100mbps & a large screened desk/laptop has to have 8mb or higher for best reception. Provide an email/phone number or ID from whichever device you'll use & your ID - become familiar with the program before our appointment. Email me your text # in case a technical issue arises. Any form of platform we'll use with various software, hardware, tools - I will make reasonable efforts to make sure the platform's reliability and accessibility. However, we are to understand no platform can be 100% reliable and I cannot guarantee it will be uninterrupted, accessible, consistent, timely or error-free in the whole time we're using it. 3. Payment must be first received before proceeding with lessons. If you can, pay once a month for all sessions. Most new students who has already taken an ASL course/s need an ASL evaluation which is $45/hr interview to determine what areas you need help in. Any extra or overtime extensions on my part must be paid in full before the next session. I will send an invoice. If you do not pay what you owe, your sessions will be terminated on a permanent basis. Email me for further instructions in how to pay. Whatever any payment programs charges transaction fees, you'll be responsible for covering it. I will email you what they charge. 4. Be prepared: Write down all of your goals; questions and bring work/books, props, pen & completed homework or learn your materials in advance. Jot down homework assignments to refer later. 5. Cancellation must be made 48 or 24 hours in advance via email. No refunds will be given for cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice. You're responsible for scheduling & remembering your own appointments. Please be courteous and cancel in advance (48 or 24 hours) as I have a lot of students that can use the time slot that you cancel. 6. In person students: no chewing gum, no smoking, no fragrance and no "loud" shirts & no cell phone interruptions. Web-cam students: make sure your room is well lit, enough light on your face, wear a solid colored shirt, video frame captures your entire upper body (belly button up to the top of your head) and have a plain wall in the background. 7. No interruptions from others during a session. 8. What to expect in ASL Tutoring...
![]() For those who wish to become an ASL interpreter - I help SLIP students enhance their ASL interpreting skills. Plus I offer a lot of moral support. For those who are learning ASL to converse with your Deaf loved ones or a co-worker - I use a floating curriculum and we will practice conversing ASL in what interests you personally. Using the guideline of ACTFL with Language Hunter's Skills: (American Council of Teaching Foreign Language)-I steadily guide students to advance their receptive and expressive skills from novice to superior skills- this is a usually self-paced long term committed arrangement and has been highly successful. I also enjoy assisting those who need help with translating English songs or stories into ASL. Email for an appointment now. ASL Storytelling via N-Touch VP or Appear-in:
